Community and Workplace Inclusion and Belonging (CWIB) are critical to the Center for Public Safety Excellence. We strive to integrate inclusion and belonging throughout CPSE’s governance, operations, and programs leading to a sustainable culture of community and workplace inclusion and belonging within CPSE and the greater fire and emergency service.
Within CPSE, we define community as the agencies and designees we work with while workplace applies to our governance leaders, staff, contractors, and volunteers. For the greater fire and emergency service, we define community as the population protected and workplace as the fire and emergency service agency.
CWIB Values Statement
CPSE embraces the many dimensions of diversity (vocational, geographic, and demographic) represented within the fire and emergency service. We will create inclusive environments, model transparency, while growing a culture of respect and psychological safety. We promote belonging and support authenticity for all to feel welcome, inspired, and comfortable.
Framework for Inclusive Dialogue
Use of this framework for inclusive dialogue is one of the tools CPSE’s enlists to foster community and workplace inclusion and belonging.
