CPSE provides opportunities for fire and EMS professionals to achieve professional credentialing and support their growth through scholarships and designations.
Each year, CPSE will offer scholarships to recognize and support up to five active fire and EMS members. The top five applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be awarded the scholarship.
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements but are not awarded a scholarship will have the option to proceed with the designation process by paying the associated fees.
Credentialing Application Periods
In addition to the scholarship, CPSE offers credentialing opportunities for various professional designations throughout the year:
- Public Information Officer (PIO) and Fire Marshal (FM): January 1 – February 28
- Chief Training Officer (CTO) and Chief EMS Officer (CEMSO): March 1 – April 30
- Chief Fire Officer (CFO): July 1 – August 30
- Fire Officer (FO) – Worthington Scholarship: September 1 – October 31
These designations are designed to advance the careers of fire and EMS professionals, promote professional standards, and enhance public safety.
